Nigeria SONCAP Certification Process

I. Document Preparation Phase

It must accurately list basic product information—such as the HS Code, product name, brand, model, number of pieces, and number of cartons—while also clearly indicating transaction details, such as the unit price and total price. II. Obtaining the PC Certificate

The PC Certificate is a fundamental prerequisite for SONCAP certification. If you are unable to directly provide a valid, existing PC Certificate, you may choose one of two application methods based on your specific circumstances: (1) Provide product samples to the certification body for professional testing, after which the PC Certificate will be issued; or (2) Submit clear product images and detailed product specifications for review and assessment by the certification body, leading to the issuance of the PC Certificate. III. Document Submission and Inspection Scheduling

Submit all fully prepared documentation to the designated issuing body. Concurrently, schedule a time for the product inspection. IV. Certificate Issuance Process

Based on these documents, the issuing body will generate a draft SONCAP certificate. *Special Note:* For PC2 and PC3 category products, if the relevant criteria for inspection exemption are met, exporters may apply directly for an exemption; in such cases, a draft certificate can be issued without the need for a physical product inspection.
